Windmills in Skive Municipality

In the Climate & Energy Strategy has wind energy is a key role in meeting the Thematic Plan for wind turbines in 2009, the municipality was a long step toward the goal. The plan provides a framework for adding an extra turbine capacity of approx. 28 MW, representing an increase of existing capacity by 33%.

Skive Municipality had in 2007 168 wind turbines with a total capacity of approx. 85 MW, which corresponds to almost 3% of the country's wind energy. 112 of the existing mills are more than 10 years old, with the oldest set in the early 1980s. Many of the mills is by reaching an age at which continued operation requires large expenditures for maintenance and repair.
